Design Covers withScraps - Secret Belgian Binding

Make your own hand bound, beautiful and useful journal. Students will design their own cover using scraps of decorative paper. We’ll discuss some basic design composition and color theory while creating cover paper. The pages we create will then be used to cover our boards. Then the book will be constructed using the Secret Belgian Binding which is a contemporary book binding structure with lots of room for creativity. This style of binding is simple and easy to construct; it opens flat and is perfect for journal writing or sketching.
